During this time, as we navigate our way through a pandemic that we have no frame of reference for, we must adapt to new or different ways of communication. I am glad to provide telephone and/or virtual therapy sessions until we are all safe to reunite.
For over 30 years, I've helped people work through their grief after their loved one has died. Whether your loss is due to a lengthy illness or a sudden, unexpected tragedy, I congratulate you on finding the courage and strength to seek the help you need. You don't have to go through your struggle alone.
Call me today. I will guide you through your grief and pain.
I am a dedicated professional bereavement counselor and a licensed mental health counselor providing guidance and support in your unique challenges and grief. I will companion with you and allow you to feel your pain, your anger and frustration while helping you to cope and regain hope again in your healing process. I will listen and offer compassionate guidance, encouraging you to feel a new sense of normalcy while incorporating your loved one in to your every day life. Working together, you will reach a sense of relief, resiliency and strength.
Children and teens need a different kind of support when they suffer a significant loss. I provide complete understanding, education and guidance for children and teens that have experienced the loss of a parent, sibling, friend or loved one (See Additional Section for Bereavement Group Information). Utilizing art and play therapies, I create a comfortable and trusting environment, enabling safe and open discussion and guidance.
Let me help you (and your family members) to express and process your pain, fears and questions about your grief starting with a phone call.
.
I promise to be there for you and your family every step of your journey. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life
DURING COVID-19, I AM ALSO OFFERING VIRTUAL CALLS
I am proud to provide a beautiful, comfortable setting for our meetings together once we are all safe to meet. I'm confident that you will feel right at home in my office, as I welcome all clients with open arms.
Appointments
If you would like to make an appointment, please contact the office by phone or email. I happily welcome new clients and especially referrals from existing clients.
Financial
I am happy to discuss my services with you to determine if I am the right therapist for you.
Please Note:
I am an out-of-network provider. What this means is: I am a fee-for-service provider, paid at time of service. I would be happy to help you fill out a standard insurance form if you would like to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many of my clients submit their receipts or insurance forms and are reimbursed a certain percentage. This process is your responsibility with your insurance provider.
Again, I am a fee-for-service provider.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to keep an appointment, I ask that you kindly provide me with at least 24 hours notice.
I simply ask for this respectful and advance notice so that I may offer this appointment to another patient. A fee will be charged if a client does not show up for an appointment without sufficient notice.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing my practice for your care.

Grief is the deep sadness we feel in reaction to a significant loss in our lives. It is most commonly associated with the loss of a loved one, but can also apply to the loss of a job, home, pet, or other significant thing in our lives. There are many emotions that we go through, and many all at one time. Grief reactions can hit us like a wave, as grief is messy and does not fit neatly into five stages as once believed. Not everyone experiencing grief will go through the conventional "five stages" model. Grief is more individual and far less predictable. There are common patterns of experiencing and expressing grief, still there are many life changes that also accompany a significant loss.
The "five stage model" is more of an outline to show the wide array of feelings that we can go through when dealing with loss. It is important to know that no two people experience grief in the
exact same way. The factors involved in the loss also determines the severity of emotions we feel. The strength of the relationship of the person you lost, the support group around you, how that person died, and other outside factors in your life will all have an effect on the grieving process.
Grieving is an important and necessary process. It is our reaction to love. Some people will try to delay the grieving process either to care for other family members, focus on other events in their life, or try to avoid it all together. This can allow the pain from the loss to grow or linger. Grieving allows us to deal with our emotions and face the reality of the situation. When this is delayed, it only makes the process more difficult later on. If you are having difficulty with the loss of a loved one, you should consider visiting our office.
Sharing the importance and the loss of a loved one, looking back on memories, and talking about life without them are subjects that can be difficult to talk about, especially with other friends or family who might be grieving themselves. I will listen intently to what you have to say and provide you with an outlet to express your emotions and work through your grief. Grief may also bring on emotions that are unfamiliar for some people because they have not experienced them before. I can help to explain these feelings and offer ways to effectively deal with them.
The loss of a loved one will never completely stop hurting. You will be reminded of that person from time to time and it may be difficult to think about them. Counseling is a way to learn how to manage these feelings. By remembering the good times you experienced with your loved one and having positive thoughts about them is an effective way to work through the many feelings that accompany grief.
If you have recently experienced a difficult loss in your life, I am here for you. Call to schedule an appointment to receive counseling today.

After a divorce you may decide to remarry. This is another major change for both you and your children. A new environment and new living situation is something that can be difficult to adjust to for children of any age. If you notice that your child's behavior is changing, they are displaying resentment or aggression towards new members of the family, or feels excluded it is a sign that they are having issues adapting. There will obviously be an initial phase of uneasiness or apprehension, but if this continues it could be a deeper issue. If you feel like your child is not adapting to the new situation you should try to talk to them and find out what is bothering them. If you are not able to help, a therapist can be very effective at finding out what is troubling your child and help them deal with their emotions.
